Global specialist insurance company Ascot Group Limited has announced the appointment of Ian Thompson and Justin Keith as new CEOs. Thompson is now CEO and Director of Ascot Underwring Limited while Keith will be President and CEO of Ascot Bermuda Limited.

Who is Ian Thompson?

Thompson first joined Ascott Bermuda as chief underwriting officer for its casualty and specialty division in 2017 before later becoming its president and CEO in December 2020. In this role, he monitored all of the company’s businesses on the island, which included specialty insurance, reinsurance and alternative insurance. capital.

With his appointment, Thompson will replace Zaffino and will move to London from Bermuda. He will also continue to report to Zaffino and remain a member of the Global Executive Committee.

Who is Justin Keith?

Keith first joined in 2017 as well, and slowly climbed the corporate ladder before eventually becoming the lead underwriting officer for the Casualty and Specialties division. Prior to that, Keith began his career at CNA Insurance as a Senior Underwriter. He then became Vice President of Ironshore Insurance before later becoming Hiscox Vice President of Specialty Treaties and Healthcare.

While his appointment is still subject to Board and immigration approval, Keith will report to Zaffino and will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations in Bermuda.
