Foote brings extensive experience from his previous role at Aon, where he spent 22 years in the specialty reinsurance division, leading the marine and energy insurance business in the US. He also worked as a senior broker in London, working across various lines and business areas.

Prior to moving into brokerage, Foote began his career in underwriting through positions at Folkam, UK, ERC Francona and Reliance International, where he gained experience in the marine and energy sectors.

“I have known Andy for a long time and am delighted to welcome him to the business. He has achieved great success and brings the entrepreneurial approach, technical expertise and commitment to client service that sets Howden apart,” said Bradley Maltese, CEO of Global and Domestic Specialties at Howden Re. “I look forward to working with him and the team to build on the momentum we have created in the global specialty reinsurance brokerage space.”

In other recent developments, the global reinsurance company also announced a three-month early career talent exchange programme with Moody’s.

This initiative involves the exchange of graduate analytical team members to enhance their modeling, analysis and client service skills while expanding their professional networks.

“Our partnership with Moody’s supports our delivery of data and technology-driven solutions to clients around the world, and will now directly contribute to the development of our team,” said Massimo Renna, CEO of Howden Re International. “This talent exchange will not only enhance the skills of our junior analysts, but will also foster a spirit of collaboration between our teams, driving innovation and excellence in the reinsurance industry.”
