WR Berkley Corporation announced the immediate appointment of Antonio Q.L. Rhodes as President of Berkley Mid-Atlantic Insurance Group (BMAG).

With nearly two decades of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, Rhodes brings a wealth of experience to the role.

Prior to his appointment, he served as Executive Vice President and Head of Property & Casualty for a major agency network and brokerage firm, where he oversaw programs and centralized recruiting as well as large and complex insurance portfolios across the country.

W. Robert Berkley Jr., Chairman and CEO of W. R. Berkley Corporation, expressed his confidence in Rhodes’ ability to contribute to the success of BMAG.

“We are very pleased to welcome Tony as President of Berkeley Mid-Atlantic Insurance Group,” he commented. “His extensive experience in building and leading companies, coupled with his knowledge of the Mid-Atlantic region, will prove to be a great asset to Berkeley Mid-Atlantic Insurance Group and the group as a whole.”

BMAG offers insurance solutions tailored to local businesses.

In July, WR Berkley Corporation named Lucas Prahl Jr. President of Berkley Human Services.

“We are very pleased to welcome Lucas to our organization as President of Berkeley Human Services,” Berkeley said at the time. “His extensive knowledge and experience will be instrumental as we continue to move forward.”

Founded in 1967, WR Berkley Corporation operates worldwide in two segments within the property and casualty industry: insurance and reinsurance and single-line excess insurance. The group is among the largest commercial insurance companies in the United States.

Earlier this year, WR Berkley Corporation’s Union Standard Insurance Group rebranded as Berkley Southwest.

“As one of the first additions to Berkeley’s 60-strong portfolio, it embodies the value of our decentralized model,” Berkeley highlighted in March. “The outstanding and talented team at Berkeley Southwest is building on a strong foundation, and we look forward to their continued success.”
