Everest Group has promoted Andrew McBride (pictured above left) to Group Chief Claims Officer. The company also announced the appointment of Lupe Garcia (pictured above right) as Chief Claims Officer for its global reinsurance division.

McBride will lead claims across Everest’s insurance and reinsurance divisions, working closely with the company’s global leaders to drive claims excellence and superior service, the company announced in a press release Thursday.

Most recently, McBride was Global Head of Claims at Everest Insurance. He joined the company in 2021 after serving as Executive Vice President of Claims at Chubb.

He has previously led claims functions at companies such as ACE, QBE Insurance Group Europe and AON.

Based in Miami, Garcia reports to McBride. He will work closely with Jill Biggs, Chief Operating Officer, Reinsurance, and her global executive team to drive the strategy and operations of the function.

Garcia has three decades of experience in claims leadership.

Prior to joining Everest, he served as Senior Vice President of Claims for Chubb Latin America, where he designed and implemented the organization’s claims strategy while leading more than 1,400 employees across nine countries.

Garcia also served as Chief Claims Officer for Latin America at Zurich Insurance Group and AIG.

“Exceptional claims management is the cornerstone” of the company’s reputation, said Juan Andrade, Everest’s CEO.

“Andrew and Lupe are experienced and trusted leaders with a track record of building successful global claims operations,” Andrade said.

These appointments follow the promotion of Harry Townsend to the position of Head of Reinsurance at Everest Insurance.
