Everest Group has unveiled a series of strategic appointments as part of the company’s ‘One Everest’ strategy, which focuses on delivering the best value to stakeholders.

In a move to align with its global distribution partners, Everest has created a global brokerage management team. The unit is led by Anthony Izzo (pictured above), who has been appointed global head of brokerage in addition to his role as Everest Reinsurance’s global head of discretionary and distribution.

The appointment comes as Global Insurance Chairman Mike Karmilovic works to establish a global framework for broker engagement.

The new IZO team consists of Global Broker Account Heads Rob Clark, Joe Stoll, Mark Shaw, and Global Broker Performance Director Nicole Mazer. The team will focus on strengthening broker partnerships and improving client relationship management initiatives.

“Strong, long-term relationships with brokers are a hallmark of the Everest business and are at the core of our collective success,” said Jim Williamson, Group Chief Operating Officer. “We are reinforcing our commitment to the broker community through exceptional talent and service, who are highly attuned to the needs of the market and invest heavily in delivering a world-class experience.

“Tony and his management team are respected industry partners who embody Everest’s culture of relationships. I look forward to working with Mike and each of them as we expand Everest’s global value proposition in tandem with evolving market needs.”

Leadership Changes in North America

In North America, Bill Hazelton has been promoted to executive vice president of Everest Insurance and head of North America Insurance after previously serving as head of the U.S. retail casualty and insurance division of the group’s insurance division. Hazelton succeeds Mike Mulray, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

Meanwhile, Brian Zink has been named senior vice president and head of Everest Specialty Underwriters and U.S. Financial Lines, reporting to Hazelton. Zink joins Everest from Zurich, where he led U.S. National Accounts Financial Lines after holding various leadership roles at Beazley and The Hartford.

Additionally, Stephen Bonban has been selected to lead Everest Insurance’s U.S. wholesale and programs business. Under Hazelton’s direction, Bonban will grow Everest’s wholesale portfolio, which was established as a standalone division to provide wholesale brokers with exclusive access to customized offerings.

Under Bonbane’s leadership, Danielle Stewart will assume the role of chief operating officer. Stewart, who currently oversees Everest Insurance’s nationwide wholesale distribution, previously led strategic initiatives for Liberty Mutual’s surplus and primary indemnity portfolio.
