Gallagher Re sets appointment for new CEO for North America

Gallagher Re has announced that Brian Vlasinski (pictured) will take over as CEO of the North America region on June 1, 2024, succeeding Jim Bradshaw. This move follows the company’s previous announcement in March, which also detailed Bradshaw’s move to Chairman of Gallagher Re North America, effective from the same date.

Bradshaw, who became CEO of Gallagher Re North America in 2021 following the acquisition of Willis Re, will take over from Tom Weaver, who is scheduled to retire on May 31, 2024. It was noted in a statement that Bradshaw had a distinguished career in… Reinsurance field, with more than 40 years of experience. His tenure at Willis Re began in 2005, eventually leading to his promotion to CEO of its North American business in 2010.

Who is Brian Vlasinski?

Vlasinski joined Gallagher Re in 2015, having previously served as Executive Vice President and President of North American Sales. His prior experience includes a nine-year stint as Senior Vice President at Guy Carpenter. In a press release, Vlasinski’s sales leadership was described as pivotal in revitalizing Gallagher Re’s new sales initiatives and delivering significant value to customers.

Tom Wakefield, CEO of Gallagher Re, expressed confidence in the leadership changes, highlighting the company’s continued success and client-focused approach.

“Gallagher Re North America is a story of continued success built on an unwavering focus on our customers. I am confident that we will quickly build on our accomplishments and continue to accelerate our growth,” said Wakefield.

Wakefield also recognized Bradshaw’s significant contributions during his tenure, particularly in managing the Willis Re acquisition and significant growth.

“Jim’s leadership helped us navigate the Willis Re acquisition and achieve significant growth during his tenure. I am grateful for his continued support, guidance and counsel during the transition and beyond,” he added.
