Judge Roger Young of Charleston County Circuit Court approved settlements between a widower whose wife was murdered on their wedding day, with Progressive Insurance and some Folly Beach clubs.

The Post and Courier reported that Aric Hutchinson’s settlement with Progressive was $75,000, while the Crab Shack and The Drop-In Bar & Deli paid $640,000 and $320,000, respectively.

Additionally, Snapper Jacks agreed to a $320,000 settlement, while Enterprise Rent-A-Car is paying Hutchinson $24,000.

The widower sued the clubs for serving the quantities of alcohol consumed by Jimmy Komoroski, the alleged drunk driver who hit the newlyweds (then in a golf cart) and thus killed Samantha Miller while driving a rental car.

The case against Komoroski is ongoing.

According to the report, Hutchinson will receive $863,331.50 after attorney fees and other expenses.
