Hanover Insurance Group has announced the expansion of its Hanover Work Safe program, a suite of services aimed at enhancing worker safety.

Our updated workers’ compensation claims program uses data and predictive analytics to understand the injured worker’s overall circumstances and how Hanover can best facilitate their recovery.

The insurance group explained that the program is not limited to treating the physical injury itself, but rather takes into account the psychological, social and economic factors that may hinder recovery and return to work.

These factors include stress levels, health beliefs, literacy, family dynamics, employer-employee relationships, as well as the level of social support available.

Hanover’s senior vice president of claims, Carmen Sharp (pictured above), said the company’s enhanced claims approach sets it apart from other providers. She suggested that by surveying injured employees and employers at the time of injury, Hanover can identify factors that may impact a claim earlier in the process.

“By considering not only physical injuries but also psychological, social and economic factors, we take a unique and individualized approach to workers’ compensation claims. Our data-driven model helps us better understand the injured individual, ensuring we can effectively support their recovery needs,” said Sharp.

In addition to claims advocacy services, Hanover Work Safe also offers resources to help prevent worker injuries. The program includes information on safety management, employee selection and training, risk assessment and control, injury management, and continuous learning and improvement.

Policyholders have full access to risk management and claims services as part of the program.
