Rapidly expanding insurance services company Patriot Growth Insurance Services has strengthened its presence in New York by partnering with full-service insurance agency SDL+GHS, which operates out of New York City and Hudson.

SDL+GHS was founded in 2018, emerging from the merger of SDL Brokerage and Group Health Solutions. SDL Brokerage began specializing in commercial insurance in the 1960s, while its employee benefits division Group Health Solutions emerged in 1996. The two came together six years ago to form an overall business.

The combined companies now offer services ranging from property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, wellness programs, business and personal lines, self-financing, and benefits administration, all powered by advanced technologies.

Backed by GI Partners and Summit Partners, Patriot was founded in 2019 and is known for its collaborative model. Partnering with employee benefits and property and casualty agencies across the country, the company employs more than 1,850 people at 194 locations in 27 states.

According to Patriot, its structure provides resources and strategic support to its agencies while enabling leaders to continue to operate with a high degree of autonomy in their local markets.
