PriceForbes Re has appointed Fred Few-Brown (pictured above, left) and Jonathan Gerken (pictured above, right) as part of its efforts to expand its facultative reinsurance team across product lines.

These appointments come during a period of strategic growth for the company, following a recent rebranding initiative.

London-based Few Brown joins the firm from Howden Re and will take charge of facultative reinsurance, reporting to Nicky Milburn, Head of Facultative Reinsurance at Price Forbes Re.

“Fred’s appointment is a pivotal moment for us at Price Forbes Re,” said Melbourne. “We have worked hard to build a platform that great people want to be a part of, and I am delighted to see the response to Fred’s joining and how he is helping to make Property Fac at Price Forbes Re a premium offering.”

Few Brown expressed his excitement to join the team, describing the current phase of growth at Price Forbes Re as a unique opportunity in his career.

“I couldn’t resist the opportunity to join a team that is going through a unique growth phase. I can’t wait to be able to join the team and support it as it grows,” said Few Brown.

Also joining the facultative team is Gerken, who will focus on facultative reinsurance against terrorism and political violence on a global scale. Gerken is based in London and reports to Richard Penrose, Head of Political Violence and Terrorism at Price Forbes Reinsurance.

Gerken brings extensive experience from his previous roles at Guy Carpenter, JLT Re, and KM Dastur, where he specialized in counterterrorism and political violence.

“I am excited to work with Nikki and Richard, and look forward to being a key part of the accelerated growth at PriceForbes Re,” said Gerken.

Melbourne said Gerken’s appointment demonstrates the company’s commitment to enhancing depth in key product areas and highlights its strong reputation in the terrorism market, both in the UK and internationally.

The appointments come at a pivotal time for PriceForbes Re, which announced in May the rebranding of its reinsurance operations. Parent company Ardonagh Specialty has renamed its reinsurance business to PriceForbes Re, unifying its brand under the PriceForbes brand after a year of regulatory simplification.

The rebranding process included the merger of Inver Re in London and Bermuda, as well as Equinox Re in the US, under the name Price Forbes Re.
