Global reinsurer Swiss Re has expanded its partnership with business automation specialist Appian to expand its Connected Underwring Life Workbench solution into selected countries in Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Launched in North America last year, Connected Underwring Life Workbench is integrated with Swiss Re’s Magnum, an automated life insurance underwriting solution, to speed up the life insurance underwriting process and improve productivity and experience for insurers in a single system.

Swiss Re notes that traditional underwriting workbenches lack integration across different systems, with a typical life underwriter needing to log into multiple systems to access information, perform risk analysis, and manage case information.

Meanwhile, modern underwriters want a single login and system to manage their workload for multiple cases and clients.

“Underwriters often find themselves juggling information scattered across email inboxes, legacy systems and lengthy documents. This is especially true for life insurers, for whom the administrative burden can create to significantly slow down their ability to accurately assess risks in a timely manner.

“This solution is particularly useful for insurers who want to simplify underwriting processes while managing risk and policy consistency across multiple markets while allowing for flexible and rapid adaptation to local regulations,” Sloan said.

“After a successful launch in North America last fall, we are excited to make this life insurance solution available in select countries in the Asia-Pacific and Europe regions this year so that more clients who want to improve the efficiency and quality of underwriting using innovative technology can benefit.” ,” added Dylan Rowe, Head of Global Life and Health Automated Solutions at Swiss Re (pictured above).
