WTW has appointed Gavin Hamilton (pictured) as a Director within the firm’s international property team in London.

Hamilton brings more than three decades of industry experience to the brokerage giant, having previously led the European wholesale and South African real estate markets at Miller Insurance Services. In his new role, Hamilton will report to head of international real estate, Edward Day.

“Gavin’s extensive industry knowledge and experience will be greatly valued within our existing talented and diverse team,” said Day. “His strong relationships with markets and clients will support the growth and success of the business, and we look forward to having him join us.”

Commenting on his appointment, Hamilton said: “I am delighted to be joining WTW and bringing my industry expertise to the benefit of clients and markets. WTW’s industry-focused, specialist approach coupled with its diverse and innovative talent pool was a major attraction to joining. I am very much looking forward to working with Ed and the team.”

This addition comes on the heels of WTW establishing a FinTech and Digital Assets Task Force.

“WTW has consistently managed to stay ahead of financial innovation and the corresponding risks by addressing the evolving needs of our clients,” Jeremy Wall, Head of Financial, Professional and Executive Risk at FINEX, recently noted.

“The creation of this task force represents a strategic move to address the unique challenges posed by the fintech and digital asset ecosystem.”

Co-led by Anthony Rappa and Trenton McNee, the team is primarily focused on developing customized insurance solutions that address the distinct risks of fintech and digital assets and leverage advanced analytics to help clients navigate the complexities of these risks.

Furthermore, the team will work to foster innovation by collaborating with business leaders, technology pioneers, venture capitalists and regulatory authorities, to ensure that WTW’s insurance and risk management solutions evolve alongside new developments in fintech.
